Donna M. Lucey’s workshop (May 11-13) is designed both for those who have always wanted to write, but haven’t yet put pen to paper, and more experienced writers who are interested in working on craft, language, pace and character development. The workshops are intentionally kept small, having eight to ten participants in total.
With the focus on memoir, Donna will work individually with writers on short, self-contained personal essays, or longer works in process. The workshop will examine the overarching shape and conception of an essay. The author’s “point of entry,” and how choice of language, tone, structure, voice and detail support or undermine the work, will also be explored.
